WEST LIBERTY – Steven Scot Fairchild, 66 of West Liberty, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at his residence. Steve was born Aug. 24, 1958 in Bellefontaine to the late Charles Oliver and Mary Hortense (Gaver) Fairchild. On Feb. 4, 1978, he married Doris McMillen, who preceded him in death on June 30, 1985. Steve is also preceded in death by his siblings, Patty (Fairchild) Long, David D. Fairchild, Linda (Fairchild) Clark and John C. Fairchild. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping; basically he enjoyed the great outdoors. He also enjoyed men's fast pitch, the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Steve loved his role at the West Liberty-Salem Schools, working in the maintenance department for over 9 years. He loved the work but also loved the staff and kids.
